Illustrated book for the 10 anniversary

To mark its 10th anniversary, the Austrian Music Theater Award is celebrating with a coffee-table book. It covers everything from the stars and winners of the early years to the dazzling performances by the two opera divas, Anna Netrebko and Gundula Janowitz, last September in Grafenegg. Host Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz has compiled his personal highlights from the past 10 years into a book. The coffee-table book is available for € 29.90. By purchasing this book, you—and we—are supporting independent music theater productions that have suffered significant financial losses during the pandemic.

The statuette

To celebrate its 10th anniversary the traditional company Gmundner Keramik created a glamorous new statuette.

Reduced to a feather in combination with a panpipe with seven pipes, the symbolism of the statuette is unmistakable the panpipe from Mozart’s “Magic flute”, and not just among experts. The uniqueness of the statuette is garantueded by flaming of the feather. This unmistakable, more than 300-years old technique of Gmundner Keramik is both a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage site and a unique piece from Austria.
